How much is an oak Hoosier cabinet worth?

Ever since the early 1900s the Hoosier cabinet has been one the most favored piece of kitchen furniture ever to exist. You might argue that the kitchen table is the dearest, and if it is, the Hoosier is a very close second.

The official Hoosiers were made by the Hoosier Manufacturing Co. of New Castle, Indiana, but models were also crafted by other Indiana companies. Today the term "Hoosier Cabinet" is generically applied to any cabinet that fit's the following description.

• Has a base with doors and drawers on the bottom for storage
• Has a porcelain work surface, many times this will slide out
• Has a top that often has a roll, or tambour door.
• Top can include a sifter, a flour bin and other accessories

Usually the cabinet will be set on a set of small casters. There are many variations and styles Hoosiers and Hoosier type cabinets, from Country to Art Deco.
